If you are thinking about buying a used Ice Cream Van
A few things you need to consider

If you are looking to get rich only do it if you have a good pitch/s with a fair or free rent, you can still make a living working round the streets but its not as easy as it used to be as peoples buying habits are changing and have been for years as more Retail Parks and Supermarkets are being built.
If you start a new business in an Ice Cream Van start it in springtime and save money for Winter if you don't you will end up selling your Van after the summer because you haven't got anything to live on.

Second Hand Vans come in 2 catagories Bad ones and good ones and if you can't tell the difference chances are you will end up with the first type, remember looks are only paint deep, if it hasn't been cared for properly (which is an expensive pastime itself) then you will find that all the neglected caring will have to be caught up with, there are so many things you have to consider.

Soft Ice Cream Vans better for shows if they have the right machine get yourself familiar with the Ice Cream Machines as they are often mis-sold I have seen Singola machines advertised as Van Uno and Super Uno Machines but if you don't know what they look like how will you know, the parts for the machines are very expensive so you need to get one with the right parts and in good condition otherwise you could spend another £2000-3000 and some fixing them.

Hard Ice Cream Vans easier and cheaper to run not quite as fast serving but worth thinking about for working the streets you don't have as much to go wrong and the Van is cheaper to buy in the first place
